Chiswick and Brentford East update

Chiswick and Brentford East update

Good afternoon,  thank you as always for being members of Met Engage and please continue to encourage others to join.

Over the last month we have been very busy dealing with various types of acquisitive crime. We are currently seeing a lot of crime displacement where offenders are coming from other areas such as Hammersmith and Ealing to commit offences in Chiswick.

We have done a number of shoplifting Operations and arrested multiple suspects for thousands of pounds of theft on Chiswick High Road. One offender was sentenced to 30 weeks in prison for offences across Chiswick and Hammersmith. We saw the return to the High Road of prolific shoplifter Max Holt who has a criminal behaviour order not to be in the area, we arrested him for shoplifting and breach of CBO for which he was given a 3 month custodial sentence as well as being recalled to prison for a previous sentence. Various others are awaiting sentencing and court appearances as well.

A male who we arrested and charged last month with 10 Burglaries we have further charged with an additional 8 Burglaries across Chiswick and Brentford, he has been remanded in prison till April next year for court. The male who we arrested for 8 linked Burglaries including 5 in one night around Chiswick High Road has plead guilty at court to 5 of the offences and is in prison awaiting sentencing. We also were made aware of a Burglary where a male sneaked into the back of a restaurant and stole a member of staff bag before using their bank cards in a nearby shop. We used facial recognition technology to identify the suspect then arrested and charged him, James KING- 40 years old of no fixed abode was sentenced to a total of 6 months in prison.

In Brentford the team are continuing to work on ASB issues including youths loitering in areas and causing issues. Meetings around the issues at the Green Dragon Cruyff football pitches are ongoing to find a long term solution.

Over Halloween, Bonfire and Diwali we have officers from the Neighbourhood teams working later shifts across Hounslow to deal with any additional ASB and Crime.

Many thanks
